Magnesium is involved in over 300 different metabolic reactions and is essential for cellular energy production, nucleic acid synthesis, muscle contraction and nerve conduction. Not all naturally occurring magnesium salts are equally bioavailable to the body. Unika has chosen three highly bioavailable raw materials: magnesium citrate, aspartate and chloride, which are completely soluble in water and therefore more easily absorbed than poorly soluble salts such as magnesium oxide.
Magnesium is absorbed primarily from the small intestine and colon, and its effectiveness depends on the solubility of salt in intestinal fluids. Studies in humans have shown that magnesium has neuroprotective effects and is involved in the production of ATP, the body's main fuel, giving it an energizing effect.
For the use of Calm Mg, it is recommended to add 50-100 g per day to the horse's diet, preferably for at least 30-40 consecutive days.
