Robert Lemieux entered the world of equestrianism as a show rider, competing at Olympic and world level for Great Britain and later for Canada.
He retired from professional riding after a serious injury, but continued to compete until Badminton 2004.
Robert and his wife Lisa started Horse Health in 2003, selling supplements from a van, and continued to grow the business until launching the LeMieux brand in 2006, when they identified a need for quality lambskin saddles and began manufacturing their own range.
“We really wanted to produce innovative, well-made but most importantly accessible equipment.”
This is the philosophy they still pursue today.
It was the production of saddle pads that made LeMieux famous.
We decided to change the one-size-fits-all approach to saddle pads in the equestrian market by using 100% natural and sustainable bamboo for our pad linings, which has been proven to be highly effective at managing heat and sweat wicking, combined with a high wither design for the best possible comfort for the horse.
